SB + Ojai + Tracy Porter Boutique

I love Santa Barbara, CA. This place is one of my favorite spot in So-Cal. After having a terrible cool, rainy, very busy week (Nutrition assessment, tons of Cooking classes, new projects…) I needed a break before starting another busy week. And our nephew Sylvain from France is visiting us so since he does not know this area…
I headed with my family to Santa Barbara hoping that we will get some sunny moments even if Santa Barbara has more a reputation of a foggy place than a sunny one.

But I deeply wanted to go there because Tracy Porter ( That I interviewed last Summer) Tracy Porter

was having an extraordinaire opening there.
Yes I am a big fan of the artist and the woman.

I never met her in person.
She was so nice and kind giving me a great interview about food and cooking last year. So I convinced the entire family to spend the week end there. After 3 hours of driving, we were happy to see the beautiful pacific ocean, all palm trees and mountains… and no rain!

As usual the town was busy, crowded with young, old people. Some were drinking coffees at Cafes, other were eating. Everyone looked happy, healthy and wealthy. And yes it was sunny.

After a quick lunch not too bad not too good at Joe’s Cafe we headed to Tracy Porter boutique. First, I met John her husband and then Robyn Tracy’s Sister, Retail manager of the boutique. Tracy was at the entrance but surrounded by a lot of fans. I was already impressed. When I could introduce myself she knew who I was….she told me with her English/French accent “CELINE Bonjour so happy to see you”, we chatted for a while, I introduced my family to her and she even laughed with Joel. Then we toured the boutique. OMG! You have to see it. I never seen a such extraordinaire boutique: the lay out, the charm, the colors, the details. Every thing was at the right place. Incroyable! when you know that Tracy designs: Clothes, jewelery, vase, china, purses…..every thing was beautiful a little pricey for me but believe me this place is unique and charming as Tracy.
I know she made the right move moving with her family to CA.
She is located at the corner of the street on State the major and busiest street in SB. They were serving cookies, brownies, mini cupcakes, lemonade in wine glasses… a very nice touch.

The boutique was crowded at one point and we had to leave because the kids wanted to go play on the beach. IMG_6137_2_1

Before leaving, I met Sarah Tracy assistant, I was very impressed by her natural, kindness and professionalism. It was so nice to meet Tracy and Sarah in person, they are wonderful full of charm, passionate, adorable. Next time you go there stop by at the boutique.
You can check Tracy Porter website too Tracy Porter

We spent the rest of the day on the beach, relaxing and playing with the kids.

The next morning was sunny and warm. We had a nice stroll on the shore and discover a little cafe right on the water that what serving breakfast. It was a perfect spot to spend the morning. After the kids devoured their French Toasts and Pancakes they played in the sand. My Huevos Rancheros were delicious and having my feet in the sand and watching the dolphins was even better!

Then we headed to the countryside to Ojai! What a beautiful and bucolic area. So green and luxhious, ranches, barns, with exotic trees and Orange groves were stunning.
It was a lovely, relaxing escape, just what we all needed!
